Online voting is officially open for the 10th annual Art Bra contest. Participants put their creativity skills to the test and decorated bras as a reminder to women everywhere the importance of being screened for breast cancer. Now it’s up to the community to pick their favorite.
The idea behind the art bra came about when a daughter lost her mother to breast cancer. She found small buttons and trinkets among her mom’s things, and – refusing to throw them out – she transformed an ordinary bra into something inspiring, and the rest is history.
The Art Bra Contest has become one of the most anticipated portions of CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial’s annual Power of Pink luncheon. Local veterinarians, firefighters, physicians and politicians have all strutted their stuff across the Power of Pink! stage for a good cause.
The community is encouraged to cast ballots for the “People’s Choice” award. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners are chosen by “celebrity” judges. All bras will be on display at the luncheon.
